International Women's Day is an occasion
marked by women's groups around the world. This date
is also commemorated at the United Nations and is
designated in many countries as a national holiday.
When women on all continents, often divided by national
boundaries and by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic
and political differences, come together to celebrate
their Day, they can look back to a tradition that
represents at least nine decades of struggle for equality,
justice, peace and development.

For the first time in the history of the South-East
Asian Games, the Philippines won
the Overall Champion Crown.
Winning 113 Gold, 84 Silver
and 94 Bronze medals, our athletes
proved their strength and excellence in sport to our
neighboring countries. It was an equally glorious
victory for our country because we have successfully
hosted the biennial event, giving all the delegates
a fun experience during their stay. Indeed, this is
one of the Southeast Asian Games that they will never
forget.
