Ang Kapit-bahay ni Kuya

Mariel Rodriguez has come a long way since she first graced the boob-tube. Undoubtedly, hosting is what she does best. Her bubbly personality, her cheerful smile, her positive aura, her unique charisma, and bloopers all are traits that the Pinoy viewers have learned to love and admire.

She keeps us awake every night with her stint at “Pinoy Big Bother Uplate” and joins us during lunch at “Wowowee”. Makes us wonder if she hardly have time to sleep. And more than that, does she hardly have time for love?

“I’m still looking for Mr. Right” was her first response when I asked if I could interview her about her dream wedding. At first I was surprised, how come the cosmo girl with her wit, humor, beauty and gorgeous body remain single and un-attached. But then I realized, with her crazy schedule and with all the work she’s been doing its really hard to have time for love.

Nevertheless, Mariel has an idea of how she wants her wedding day to be. She wants a beach wedding, preferably in Amanpulo or Maldives. “Maganda out of the country kaya sana kaya ni Mr. Right”, she quips. She wants everything white and loves white lilies as the main flower in all floral arrangements. She also likes pink and gold. Her barefoot guests will consist of close friends and relatives only and she wants her wedding to be very solemn. Julius Tarog, who designs her gown every eviction night, will be making her fabulous wedding gown. Edwin Aguilar will do her make-up. “Kasi memorized na niya ang face ko”, Mariel added. During the Reception its fun, fun, fun…very much like her personality, never a dull moment.

I’ve admired her hosting style and fashion style as well. But after having the opportunity to meet her in person, I admire her even more. She’s the same Mariel on TV that brings sunshine before I sleep and when I wake up after a few hours of sleep.

I bet her “Mr. Right” is just around waiting for the perfect time to be noticed by lovely Mariel. In the meantime, tuloy ang drama ng totoong buhay para sa kapitbahay ni kuya.
